MOELLER DESERVES YOUR VOTE!!

COMMISSIONER MOELLER WRITES PROFESSIONAL LETTER TO VOTERS OF SJC

Dear Voters and Editor,

Jeanne Moeller for Anastasia Mosquito Control District, Commissioner, Seat 2

Jeanne Moeller for Anastasia Mosquito Control District, Commissioner, Seat 2

Thank you to all of you who have voted for me by mail! I appreciate and am grateful for your faith and trust in me to continue as your Anastasia Mosquito Control Commissioner. During early voting that begins tomorrow at 7AM I hope many more of you will vote for me: Jeanne Moeller, NPA Mosquito Control Seat 2.

I chose to run again because I find the science/technology and research fascinating. This position has given me the opportunity to use and expand my life goals of service to my fellow man. My Grandfather used to hike and camp with me in the State Parks and his motto was “do no harm, clean up after yourself, and leave the park a better place”. As a child I really didn’t get it but because I loved him so, I followed those instructions and tried to initiate the same lessons to my children. Being an elected official for the past eight years has given me the opportunity to help us leave our County in a better place. We have reduced the use of pesticide carcinogens by 90%, increased public education events by over 100%, and reduced full-time staff using full time seasonal workers in the busy season, (May to October).

We have had too many positive changes in the way we do mosquito control in St. Johns County to mention. However, I can report that Anastasia Mosquito of St. Johns County is a shining beacon not only in the State and Nation but is known Internationally as the best place for PhD and Masters level students in both Entomology and Public Health to do their required internships. We are selective in accepting their requests, they must be recommended by their core professors and have a project that fits with our local applied research projects.

My formal background includes a BA in Political Science and Business Administration with a minor in Marketing. For over 15 years I was the Administrator for Adams Acres. I have owned several small businesses and have been active in many local not-for-profit organizations. Volunteering had always been an important part of my life goals. Even though I attended 37 AMCD Board meetings before being elected in 2006 I never realized all the hard work and research that goes into mosquito control on a daily basis or how mosquitoes truly affect all of us on a daily basis. This position has given me the opportunity to present basic premise on “Who, What, Why and How of Mosquito Control”, hundreds of times. In this election year, fewer folks are laughing when the candidate’s state,” I am running for mosquito control”. I hope I have done my job explaining why we are important to each and every resident in St. Johns County. I have worked diligently to learn the requirements we are governed by and have with integrity researched the issues that come before the board to cast my vote for the best outcome for St. Johns County.

I would appreciate your vote between now and November 4th.

Regards, Jeanne Moeller
