Naval Response to Threats

What are we missing? What’s the true story? What is the mission of our navy near Iran? When a Iranian missile is launched toward our carrier group with no apparent US response …why is our military present if it cannot defend itself ? With apparently no knowledge of the Iranian missile warhead, nuclear, chemical or other is this to be ignored? What is the US Commanders responsibility to the mission and those men who serve with him? Do we haphazardly put our service men and women at risk? Cannot our navy navigate nor calculate fuel to destination any more?

Just wondered if anyone else could explain, besides the Secretary of State, some rationale answers? Mr. Furious (Secretary of State) seems clueless. To think of him as a past candidate for President is a chilling thought!. Are we being given another lesson in humility by our current President!.
