THIS FRIDAY EVENING – SURF ILLUMINATION SET FOR FRIDAY NOVEMBER 21ST

November 16, 2014 | EddieFleming.com

The 2014 Surf Illumination Tree Lighting Festival at St Augustine Beach has a new date. The annual holiday tree lighting will take place Friday November 21st at the St johns County Pier Park. The annual free family fun event presented by the St Augustine Beach Civic Association usually takes place in early December. Due to logistical conflicts with preparation for the Diva Half Marathon and 5K the Civic Association opted to hold the event earlier than usual. “We are excited about the date change”, said St. Augustine Beach Civic Association President, Bill Jones. “The date change creates synergy between our tree lighting on Friday night the 21st and the beginning of the Nights of Lights that begins in St Augustine on the next evening, Saturday, November 22nd on the Plaza in Downtown St. Augustine”.

Nico Heather Ricore, President of Vera Icon Productions, LLC, is the Producer/Director of the 2014 Surf Illumination.  Nico is also renowned for her Management of the St. Augustine Beach Pier “Wednesday Farmers Market” and production and direction of the newly innovative production of the monthly “The Downtown Bazaar” an inspiring evening of Fine Art, Great Music and Fabulous Food on St, George Street, St. Augustine and “Beach Blast Off,” the annual New Years celebration, sponsored by the City of St. Augustine Beach with funding provided by the Tourist and Development Council.

Surf Illumination will take place at the St Johns County Pier Park on Friday November 21st from 4 until 7pm. The free event will feature a visit from Santa, Face Painting, Balloon Twisting and a Bounce House for children in addition to holiday music, 20 arts & crafts vendors and Mayor Andrea Samuels will light the holiday tree at 6 pm. Visitors are reminded that parking at Pier Park is limited. Visitors can park on nearby Pope Road or on 16th Street
